Pont D'Espagne / Lac de Gaube (near Cauteret)

JULY 23

The rainy days have finally subsided.

We decided to take an easy 'or so we taught' mountain hike up to the 'Lac de Gaube'.

We took the second chairlift. Walked past the first.

Family members should recognize this young lady.

This is before the chair lift.

As the sign indicates this is the 'Pont d'Espagne'.

These are after the chairlift.

The restaurant by the Lac de Gaube at which we ate lunch.

This the 'Lac de Gaube'. With the river/falls (way at the back) feeding the lake.

We intend to walk to the top of the river/falls. Maybe we can touch the clouds.

The lake empties into this small river.

This is another smaller river/falls that feeds the lake. Check out the clouds above covering the mountains.

We are now walking around the edge of the lake to the river/falls.

We have reached the other end of the lake and intend to press on.

This is from the other end of the lake.

The following is a series of falls.

This is the valley above the river/falls. This the farthest we walked. We completed the walk we set out to do. Again, notice the clouds in the background.

The cascading river that I zoom in to and we hiked to.
